The international Jamboree on your doorstep...
and much, much more
On Sunday 17th 2010 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts will join in this international event, talking to Scouts all over the world using Amateur Radio and the Internet
Every year in October, thousands of Scouts all over the world set up amateur radio and internet stations to take part in Jamboree On The Air and Jamboree On The Internet, so they can make contact with mambers of the Scout movement world-wide. Very often the start of long-term links with Scouts and Scouters across the globe, this is a truely international event, and is an ideal way of bringing some International Scouting to your Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troop or Explorer Unit without leaving Tamworth
Our JOTA/JOTI station includes an activity village filled with exciting activities on an international, communication or technological theme. With plenty to do for all ages, the activity village compliments the Radio and Internet stations, and this year includes:
- TV Studio - present the news and weather in the JOTA TV Studio
- Mayday Distress Calls - call the Coastguard from a sinking boat
- CCTV Cameras
- 999 Calls
- Two Way Radios
- Fax Machines
- Secret Codes & Ciphers
- Telephone City
- Morse Code
- TV Studio
- Film Studio
- The Big Flag Game
- Radio Station - Broadcast live to Tamworth on TCR FM
- Dark Dungeon Challenge
- Semaphore
- Electronics
- International Greetings
- JOTA Cafe
