Think you might like to be part of scouting?

We are always looking for new helpers. You don't have to have a scouting background, be brilliant at tying knots or even enjoy camping. Scouting has something to offer everyone:-

Leaders - adult leaders are always needed to help run the different sections. As a leader, you would be directly involved with the young people, planning programmes and running activities. How much responsibility you accept or commitment you make is up to you. You don't have to know how to light a fire or tie knots. All you need is a positive approach and natural enthusiasm - the kids will love you!

Here's what one of our leaders says about their experience:

"Being a leader is not easy, but it's not hard either. It's a real privilege to work with young people and see them develop. It wouldn't be overstating things to compare it to parenting - remember the joy when you saw your child take their first steps, say their first words, learn to ride a bike? Well, as a leader I get that same warm feeling when I see a scout overcome their fears to climb a rock face, abseil down a wall, cook a meal on an open fire... To think; I've been a part of helping young people to challenge themselves, achieve something and develop as responsible people."

Support - There are lots of support roles to fulfil - treasurer, secretary, chair, recruitment, quartermaster, active support, cooks... the list is endless. Whatever your skills or interests, scouting will have something for you to do and for you to feel part of! It will also give you new skills and experiences.
